Is this a Happy New Year ?

I say it, "Happy New Year"... but in so many places it isn't.

Israel, Hamas, Congo, Uganda, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Richmond California, killing fields on the first day of the year. Where has all the humanity gone ? Certainly Dick Cheney tried to put it into a bottle. He removed the human face of our country to the eyes of the world.

Its all so sad. But as a friend, Michael, said minutes after the fireworks ended... "hey, its a great year, I haven't lost any money yet!"

So may there is hope. I want to share that hope with you.

Is Israel thinking ?

Is Israel the next Bush ? Are they taking action they can justify without deep thought as to the long term resultant ? Of course they hate Hamas. But will killing 400+ citizens be the tool of peace to Israeli citizens ? Or is it the fire of war that will stoke another generation of Israeli's living in fear of death by Coffee House ?

Where are the smart minds here... Is there no innovative thinking possible ? Same old same old brings same old same old.
